Various bug fixes relating to remote control:

• Fixed an issue where keyboard shortcuts were still active while the Settings or Properties window was focused
• Fixed an issue with the connection to TCast Remote where the control password didn't properly protect the controls when connecting over Bluetooth
• Fixed an issue with the connection to TCast Remote where, if the control password changed, the user would never get prompted to enter the new one
• Fixed an issue with the connection to TCast Remote where the lock icon wouldn't show for protected connections if only Bluetooth was enabled
• Fixed an issue with the connection to TCast Remote where the host's name wouldn't show properly for Bluetooth connections

These fixes also need the new version of TCast Remote (1.1) so please go update that too!

A ton of optimizations, performance improvements, bug fixes and visual issues resolved! What's new:

• Significantly decreased idle and live CPU usage
• PNG sequences can now be detected and re-encoded as new videos (HEVC with alpha)
• Added colors to the Program Layers panel to be consistent with the media tiles
• Updated the look of the volume and transport bars
• Increased the shadow on the info display over the Program Output for better readability
• Fixed an issue where videos with audio sometimes took nearly one second to start playing
• Fixed an issue where videos with audio would hold their first frame when transitioning in
• Fixed an issue where advancing a playlist could take a live clip off air
• Fixed an issue where advancing a playlist with a transition could fade two frozen frames together
• Fixed an issue where playback controls acted on the incorrect clip during transitions
• Fixed an issue where playback controls wouldn't function when the only live clip was on the Overlay or Background layer
• Fixed an issue where the transport bar would jump around at the start of a clip playing
• Fixed an issue where vertical videos played horizontally and filled the screen regardless of fit mode
• Fixed an issue where vertical videos would show as landscape in Properties (1920×1080 for a 1080×1920 clip)
• Fixed an issue where videos with more than one audio track (such as iPhone Spatial Audio recordings) had no volume control or meters
• Fixed an issue where audio crossfades took significantly longer than the set duration
• Fixed an issue where clicking on certain areas of a media tile would either inadvertently control other clips or just do nothing
• Fixed an issue where media tiles would crop in regardless of the fit mode
• Fixed an issue where projects containing an unrecognized kind of media would refuse to open
• Fixed an issue where partly transparent pixels would appear too dark on NDI outputs
• Changed NDI frame conversion to happen on the GPU instead of the CPU
• Fixed some Syphon performance issues
• Fixed an issue where oversized clips would unnecessarily decode at full size

Various important bug fixes, so update ASAP! These include:

• Fixed an issue where Browser, NDI and Syphon outputs would not render transparency
• Fixed an issue where setting the On End behavior to Clear would not work properly
• Fixed an issue where supported .mov files would not play in a Browser Source
• Added clarification that certain .mov files (such as ProRes and DNxHD) will not play in the Browser Source
• Fixed a visual issue where transitions didn't start until the last frame, leading to a hanging effect

Various bug fixes:

• Fixed Mac going to sleep while outputs are still enabled.
• Fixed the main display getting blocked by the program output after another display gets unplugged
• Fixed freezing after displays are rearranged/the Mac wakes up
• Fixed timecode indicator not showing the correct time after the Mac wakes up
• Fixed images with transparency not compositing correctly

• Added PDF/Google Slides support. You can drag in PDFs like any other file, or import Google Slides with File ▸ Import Slides from Link…
• Media tiles come in three sizes, under Settings ▸ General ▸ Appearance.
• Quality of life improvements to drag-and-drop and selection. The board will scroll to allow you to select more clips. Also ⇧-clicking after a selection extends it rather than throwing it away.

The first stable release of TCast.

• Drop media on the board and click to put it on air.
• Send the program out over NDI, Syphon, an OBS browser source, or a second display.
• Projects, saved playlists, and managed media storage.
• Remote control from Bitfocus Companion, an iPhone, or any browser.
• Updates arrive in the app and ask before installing.
